THROWBACK THURSDAY – 1998 Tampa Bay Devil Rays Inaugural Season

 In Uncategorized

As a sports artist, I was thrilled to be selected as the official artist for the inaugural season for Major League Baseball’s Tampa Bay Devil Rays. The inaugural season artwork was used on the commemorative “first ever” game ticket as well as an entire collection of souvenir apparel, merchandise and collectibles. Every fan attending the inaugural game received this unique die cut ticket with their seat location em-bossed on the design. Prior to the 10th Devil Rays home game, I was honored by the team to throw out the game’s first pitch. Later that season I was commissioned by the Florida Marlins to paint a commemorative painting of Legendary “knuckle ball” pitcher Charlie Hough. 20 years later I still love to create sports art to commemorate historical events or to memorialize great athletes.
